See the New Cheap Trick Video for Bowie-Esque Single

A week in advance of their April 8 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band,  Cheap Trick dropped new album Bang, Zoom, Crazy … Hello, which marked their first album since 2009.

Late last year, the band advanced its single “No Direction Home,” and then followed up with a video last month for second single “When I Wake Up Tomorrow.”

“This song always reminds me of a sultry David Bowie song,” Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen told Rolling Stone of the latter. “I liked it from the first time we attempted to do it. It’s just a moody, interesting piece with some heavy guitars in the middle. The last line is ‘Are you gonna be here when I wake up tomorrow,’ and then Bowie passed away after we recorded it.”

Cheap Trick bassist Tom Petersson has been rocking his custom-built Gretsch 12-string bass for a while, but even Nielsen gets in on the Gretsch action in this clip with a guitar signed by Monkees’ Micky Dolenz.
