Multi-platinum selling artists Good Charlotte released Cardiology, their fifth studio album, on Tuesday.
Produced by Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Avril Lavigne), Cardiology is the follow-up to 2007’s Good Morning Revival, which debuted in the top 10 in 13 countries, including the United States.
“It’s kind of a reintroduction,” Joel Madden told Billboard.com. “It’s not like anything we’ve ever done, and definitely not a continuation of Good Morning Revival,” though he told Billboard.com that “there are some elements of that record on this record.”
The reintroduction received high praise from Alternative Press, which awarded Cardiology four out of five stars.
“Good Charlotte are multiplatinum scene superstars, but Cardiology might just be their best effort yet,” wrote Alternative Press.
