Gretsch artist Paul Pigat of Cousin Harley entertained the guests at the 2011 Gretsch Showcase. Since the Canadian guitar ace was going solo, he brought along some backing tracks on his mobile.
“These are actually my band tracks,” he explained. “I just stripped all the guitars off my records and figured I’d play along with them. So I’ll introduce Jesse Cahill and Keith Picot; they’re just shrunk down right now. It’s a lot easier to transport them this way.”
As well as playing his rockabilly tunes, Pigat paid tribute to one of his vocal influences, covering Bing Crosby’s “Buddy, Can You Spare a Dime?”
