George Harrison: Living in the Material World took home two Creative Arts Emmy Awards over the weekend.
Directed by Martin Scorsese, the chronicle of the late Beatle’s life won for Outstanding Nonfiction Special, while Scorsese won an Emmy for Outstanding Directing for Nonfiction Programming.
In the Nonfiction Special category, Material World beat HBO’s Bobby Fischer Against The World and Gloria: In Her Own Words, A&E’s Paul Simon’s Graceland Journey: Under African Skies and Comedy Central’s 6 Days To Air: The Making Of South Park.
In the Outstanding Directing category, Scorsese defeated Bertram van Munster for The Amazing Race,” Robert B. Weide for American Masters: Woody Allen: A Documentary,Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky for Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory and Craig Spriko for Project Runway: Finale (Part 2).
