Rock and roll took center stage at the 35th annual BRIT Awards, as Royal Blood was named the top British Group.
What’s more, the duo received the award from none other than Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page.
“This is a huge surprise for us,” said singer/bassist Mike Kerr. “It’s probably more of a surprise for everyone here, as you may not even know who we are.”
Royal Blood stood tall among a stacked list of nominees that included Alt-J, Coldplay, One Direction and Clean Bandit.
As if the crowd needed proof of Royal Blood’s ability to rock, the band also took the stage to perform a particularly brutal version of the single “Figure It Out,” which comes off their 2014 self-titled debut.
