Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody is looking to raise some serious cash to help youngster Vanessa Riddle’s battle with cancer.
As such, the singer is donating a signed Gretsch guitar as part of a bid to drum up £500,000 to send the 11-year-old for lifesaving surgery in the US, according to the Daily Record.
Lightbody originally became aware of the situation when he met Vanessa and her sister Olivia backstage at a show.
“It’s a big sum of money Vanessa has to try and raise and we’re trying to help as much as possible,” Lightbody told the paper.
“I hope on the right night at the right auction that people will spend a lot on the guitar.”
