Eleven of the cherry and black Gretsch Electromatic G5103 CVT III guitars that were used in OK Go’s viral “Needing/Getting” music video are now available for purchase.
In the video, which first aired during Super Bowl XLVI and currently has over 18,000,000 views on YouTube, the band played their song by driving a van through a complex set up of instruments forming a chain reaction of sounds.
Gretsch was represented by 288 guitars used in the video, and the 11 available models feature wear marks and have been preserved in their dusty “as is” condition.
One of the 50 G5222 Electromatic amps used in the music video also comes with the packages, as well as a Fender cord, a letter of authenticity signed by each member of the band and the president of Gretsch guitars, and a photo of the guitars taken on set while making the video.
