Guns N’ Roses guitarist Richard Fortus kicked things into high gear last #FalconFriday with a slick preview of the prototype of his upcoming signature Gretsch Falcon model.
“We are doing two models!” said Fortus. “One is an Antique White and the other one will be Black. Both will have tortoise binding, and both will have these proprietary pickups.”
Fortus ran through each of the positions of his custom-voiced pickups on his prototype that shined with distinct clarity and snappy vintage attitude.
“We worked a long time on [these pickups],” noted Fortus. “These are a pickup that we came up with through a lot of trial and error, and they are really special. What we came up for this guitar is a cross between a typical Filter’Ton and a vintage PAF. The most import thing for me was to retain that Gretsch-sparkle that I absolutely love.”
