Malian musician Rokia Traoré has gained international acclaim with her latest album Beautiful Africa, a collection of rock-infused tracks that recall the type of music that first inspired her.
And during a trip through North America, Traoré stopped into Seattle’s KEXP studios to play a few new songs, including “Sarama,” which is a praise song to Malian women partly sung in English, and “Kèlè Mandi.”
