If you haven’t already seen them, the Dead Weather offered up a series of technique and instrument-based videos to accompany the release of 2015’s Dodge and Burn.
Two of those videos included gear and technique tips from bassist Jack Lawrence and guitarist Dean Fertita. Directed by Jack White, both are quirky and humorous while also revealing a few trade secrets.
Fertita divulges the source of his pummeling dive bomber crunch on new song “Let Me Through,” while Lawrence reveals how he achieves his distinct bottom end sound for The Dead Weather.
Lawrence also boasts that “without the bass guitar, the Dead Weather would be nothing.”
