Before his latest tour to support latest album Dark Bird is Home, Kristian Mattson – a.k.a. the Tallest Man on Earth – was used to performing on stage by himself.
But lately, he’s been backed by a full band for his concerts, adding lush layers to his beautifully arranged songs.
That sound was on display during a shoot for WFUV in New York City’s legendary Electric Lady Studios. With his bandmates supporting him, Mattson donned a G6122-12 Chet Atkins Country Gentleman 12-String guitar and treated an intimate crowd to the Dark Bird single “Sagres” and a cover of “If I Could Only Fly,” which was written by Blaze Foley.
